Making links to objects in DVAction

How to copy URLs (link addresses) into CourseInfo, WebCT, or other web builder tools.

You may wish to link from your website to objects in the DVAction database. At the bottom of the page describing each technique or image in detail, you will see a link that looks like:
URL (link address) for this technique:
http://dvaction.northwestern.edu/parentdetail.php?id=2

Use your mouse to get the browser's popup menu (for Windows users, this usually means using the RIGHT mouse button to click on the link address; for Mac users without a 2-button mouse, click and HOLD to get the popup menu) and select the option to copy the link location. Popup menus do vary from browser to browser; in Netscape, this option may be "Copy this Link Location," and in Internet Explorer it might be "Copy Shortcut".

Once you have copied the location, you are ready to paste it into your website. Here are instructions for users of these popular tools:

  • CourseInfo
  • WebCT
  • Macromedia Dreamweaver
